Question from Customer:  The latest issue we faced is that the exchange server in question is accessible through http rpc proxy (a standard mechanism for connecting to exchange behind firewall) only. We are unable to figure out if there is a way for Riva to be this proxy aware. Do you have recommendations?

Answer:  One of the system requirements for Riva when configured against Exchange is a version of Outlook.  The Outlook client provides the necessary API to connect to Exchange, they also allow for the creation of Mail Profiles.  It is by configuring a Profile (Control Panel -> Mail) that you can configure a connection in Riva to use RoH (RPC-over-HTTP).  RoH is usually on used to connect to an Exchange server running over a WAN or when connecting to a hosted Exchange provider.  You'll need to configure the Profile to use RoH then Riva will use those RoH settings when configured to use a Profile instead of Direct, this is defined on one of the first steps of the Riva Exchange connection wizards.

The recommended default primary connection method for Riva is to connect directly to the Exchange server using "Direct RPC" which is the default when using the Riva Exchange connection wizard, instead you'll want to pick your profile from the drop-down list.

One note about configuring your Riva server to use a Profile instead of the Direct connection method is that you need to run the Riva CRM Agent service as the user that owns the Profile.  If you log into the server using a user named  cnarsude  then you need to ensure the CRM Agent Service is using the same credentials or the service will not have access to the configured Profile as they are stored in the CurrentUser settings.

Also when configuring your Profile, make sure to uncheck the  'Use Cached Exchange Mode'.

We will update the Riva Integration Server for Exchange Admin Guide with this setup information in the near future.
