I had GEE-Whiz running fine for a while but suddenly it stopped detecting SPAM yesterday. The screen looks the same, with the animation still moving merrily along, but in the last 24 hours it has not flagged ANY spam, and the mailboxes are overflowing again.
I just unloaded and reloaded GEE and it is catching stuff again, but I would like to know what happened. My system configuration can be found in the GEE-WHIZ & McAffe thread, and is basically a dual 1 Ghz processor Dell Server with 2GB RAM running NW6sp3, GW6sp3 with Gee-Whiz 1.3.0-r2 & McAffee Netshield 4.6.

That`s very strange!
Uhm, not quite sure why that would happen, other than the obvious (ie: someone disabled GAS while it was running or something).
We got a new version of GEE in the works with a lot of improvements to the Anti-Spam stuff (we`re SpamAssassin 2.55 compliant).
When that comes out, and you`re having the same problems, we`ll try and work through what`s happening.

Well, no one disabled it, that`s for sure, as no one even knows waht to do. Teh console screesn said that it was active too, just that nothing was identified over a 24 hour period, and I got calls from users saying that their SPAM flders were empty, but the mailbox was full of SPAM. I saved a screen shot of the GEE Console, but there does not seem to be any way to attach it here.
When is the new version coming out ?

It`s in the first stage of beta, and we just have one more set of abends to work out before we move to Beta2.
After the testers have OK`d beta2 (like, probably next weekish), we`ll release 1.3.1 as a public beta.

Unfortunately, no. Since the razor client is written in perl , we`d have to port it to C (LOTS of work). Unless you know of a C based, non-gpl type version, it probably won`t get added until we run outta things to do. (As I`d have to write a client from scratch.)
For now, the only network checks we`re doing are RBLs.

Dang, ok, too bad.
We`ve had a serius loss of effeciency lately on the SA detection, probably due to spammers knowing hot to get around some of the detection methods.
Are you saying that RBL`s will be included in the next version? That at least would be good news, as we`re not yet on GW 6.5 that also supports this.

GEE Whiz 1.3.0-r3 is using SpamAssassin 2.43? ruleset?
With 1.3.1 it`s the 2.55 ruleset, so that should help with the anti-spam a lot. We`re noticing it catching more during our testing.
Adding Razor/Pyzor support is definately on our list of things to do, I`m just not sure when.
