Hi there,

I would like to know if it possible to include the current password for a user when moving the account.

I have read that this should be possible (at least to give a password upon creation by entering it into the export file).

What I want to do is the following:

We are upgrading our system with a new server, and want to take the current NDS from the old one and sick it on to the new one.

The new server will take over the identity of the old one.

I have managed to export all users from the "old" NDS and import them onto a test server.  I want to take the passwords from the "old" server and import them directly with the user info on the new one.

Is this possible, or will I have to go ahead with the tedious task of entering all passwords again by hand?

Many thanks,

doa_cp

Hello,

eDirectory does not allow you to export passwords.  They are stored in a encrypted special location that we cannot access.

Regards,

Shane
