I like the quarantine system in 2.0, and I think you can make it even better.

If "quarantine" is engaged, all messages over the " Spam identification threshold" get quarantined, even if they score higher than the Spam auto-delete threshold.   Auto-delete should not go to quarantine.  When reviewing quarantine you want to see the marginal cases.  Also messes up the HAM/SPAM collection.  Maybe if you added a column to display SPAM score, then the high-scorers could be deleted from the quarantine before taking your samples for the SPAM folder (used to build better text classifiers).

As it is, it's easier to re-direct to a client and forward or delete from there.  Problem is, forwarding interferes with the message header (and user concerns about IT opening their email).  And if you want to use re-directed mail to build HAM/SPAM sample sets, you have to re-convert it to SMTP format (a bit of a hassle when you consider 1000 SPAM and 250 HAM to build a good set for processing).

How about it?

We have the same issue, I think.  We are relatively new to GeeWhiz 2.0 and I am noticing that the Quaranteen doesn't respond to the blacklisted items.  Thus I have to review hundreds of redundant spam emails every day to sort out the good from the bad.   Gee Whiz 1.4 didn't do this.  If it was blacklisted, we never saw anything anywhere in the system from those servers.  Please guide me on how to do this with 2.0.  It is a night mare after the weekend to go through a 1000 emails in spam.

feel free to email me at ejohnsen@diverssupplyinc.com with suggestions

thanks,

This behaviour is modifiable via the scripts, how we currently have it setup is for the most general case. I'm not sure when I would have time to look at features such as this.

I'm guessing you're talking about retrieving the messages GroupWise and using them to teach GEE2?

Have you tried the POP3 version of the UI Classifier teacher? http://www.omni-ts.com/forum/post--1108--page-1.html
