I have just installed and configured syncaphone on a NetWare OES server, all went well with the installation.

The problem I get is that when i access the syncaphone server with my syncaphone client running on a P900, I get the following error code -125 There are problems with the communication.

My question is the following:

We use GroupWise 7 and the default url to access webaccess is http://serverIP/gw/webacc, where can I specifiy this instead of /servlet/webacc.

If you can think of anything else that might cause this problem please let me know.

I believe there are a couple of problems with your installation:

1. The Syncaphone installation programme does not yet fully support GroupWise 7 on Linux or Novell OES. That is why you are not able to set the path to the directory structure for your environment.  A release with an multiple server platform installer is due for release very soon

2. The Sony Ericsson 910 does not yet have a dedicated client that takes advantage of its specific combination of hardware and software. One of the extra setup challenges with Sony Ericsson phones is that they require a separate WAP profile. For information on how to set up the separate profile, see the Sony T610 guide at the following link: http://www.omni-ts.com/documentation/mobility/. You can try using the Syncaphone_N3650 client.

3.  The -125 error you are receiving is quite generic. This is the same error that occurs if you have the wrong password. We will see if the developer can improve the error code to better reflect the types of errors that are occurring. On the other hand, the Syncaphone client might not be able to differentiate between a login error caused by the wrong URL or the wrong password.

Syncaphone 1.09 ( now 1.093 is available ) fully supports GW 7.0. The version of GroupWise is recognized automatically by Syncaphone without and additional action from the admin. It is not official ( it will be announced soon ) but current version also can be installed on Linux. The installer recognizes the OS. It is still the same file for both Linux and NetWare ( 1.093 version ).

The "Error -125" can be caused by following problems:

  • there are no connection between Syncaphone server part and the GroupWise Webaccess;
  • the GroupWise password is not correct,
  • there are problems with encryption keys (the encryption key of the client application does not fit to the encryption key of the server part),

The most common reason of this error for NetWare servers is lack of HTTP connection on 127.0.0.1 (local loopback). 127.0.0.1 is the default GWserver address for Syncaphone installations. Sometimes it is impossible to establish connection using this address. You should to use another IP address of GroupWise Webaccess server to resolve this problem. For example you can use the same IP address as external_host. Go to the Syncaphone web admin pane and go to application and then web.xml, click on the GWserver link and put new value of address and then press send button. Application will restart with the new parameters.

Best regards,
