Is Omni compatible with the new Windows Mobile 5.0? And the Smart Phones that use it, such as the Cingular 2125, or the Treo 700W?

Thanks, fcm

The Omni Mobile Client for Groupwise PDA synchronization is compatible with the Palm Treo 700w.  It is not compatible with the Cingular 2125 (and other non-touch screen phones) because the Cingular 2125 does not have touchscreen support.  We are working on delivering full native toggle-button support for devices that do not have touchscreen support.

Effective January 13, Omni Mobile supports all touchscreen Windows Pocket PC and Windows Mobile 5.0 devices with the following screen formats:

  - 240 x 320 portrait mode
  - 320 x 240 landscape mode
  - 240 x 240
  - VGA (640 x 480)

This includes the Palm Treo 700w, iPAQ 6515, iMate K-JAM, PPC 6700, UTStarcom 6700, Qtek 9100 and other similar devices in horizontal and vertical modes.

You can view the complete list of supported devices at:

Porting Omni Mobile to support Nokia Series 60 devices is the first step to providing full support for native toggle-button devices that do not have touch screens.

After Omni Mobile for Nokia 60 devices is available, we will begin to work on the port to support Windows Mobile phones that do not have touch-screen support.

That port will probably not be available until the September timeframe.
