Problem: If you apply a GroupWise WebAccess patch without uninstalling Omni Mobile, the Omni Mobile tab (GW 7) or icon (GW 6.5) disappears from GroupWise WebAccess for all users including the Omni Mobile admin user.
Discussion: When a GroupWise WebAccess patch is applied, it normally replaces the existing startup files (webacc.cfg and web.xml) for WebAccess with the default startup files. This will remove Omni Mobile from GroupWise WebAccess because the Omni Mobile template files are no longer linked to GroupWise WebAccess. Omni Mobile server modules are still installed and the server data still exists. If the Omni Mobile server started successfully then Omni Mobile clients should still be able to updata data. Usually the Omni Mobile server will cease to function and users will report that Omni Mobile clients are unable to connect to the Omni Mobile server.
Warning: Do not run the Omni Mobile server uninstaller.jar file in an attempt to fix the problem. This will break WebAccess and usually will require a complete removal and reinstallation of WebAccess.
Resolution: During business hours call Omni Technical Support ( +1.780.423.4200 ) and ask for assistance. After hours complete a "Contact Us" form and report the problem and provide a contact name and phone number.
