Let's consider a 6-user Novell Linux Desktop Multiplier system.

We recommend the following:
  1. Computer: Intel Pentium 4 2.6GHz+ (or similar AMD computer)
  2. Operating System: SUSE Linux Enterprise Desktop 10, Novell Linux Desktop 9 or 10, or openSUSE 10 (or other Linux OS that supports the 2.6 Kernel)
  3. RAM: 1.5 GB of RAM (256 MB of RAM per user for optimal performance)
  4. Video Cards: 3 dual-head AGP/PCI video cards
  5. USB Hub: Powered USB hubs
  6. Monitors: 6 VGA monitors (Flat panel or CRT screens)
  7. Keyboards: 6 USB keyboards (preferably with integrated USB hub to connect mouse)
  8. Mice: 6 USB mice
  9. Cabling: May need USB repeater or well-shielded VGA extensions
  10. Software: Desktop Multiplier (try the evaluation copy)
This is a regular PC with some additional RAM. The minimum processor specification will depend on the number of users and types applications they will be running. If you like, we can provide you with a bundled price that includes the Desktop Multiplier, USB keyboards and mice, and dual-head video cards.
