Question: Does the Linux Desktop Multiplier run on other versions of Linux?

Answer: Yes. While we recommend using Novell SUSE Linux Enterprise Desktop (SLED) and openSUSE, the Linux Desktop Multiplier will work with the following Linux distributions that use 2.6.x kernel:
  • Novell Linux Desktop 9 (NLD 9)
  • Suse Linux Enterprise Desktop 10.x (SLED 10)
  • openSUSE 10.x
  • Fedora Core 2, 3 & 4
  • Mandriva 10.0 & 10.1 (Mandrake/Conectiva)
  • Xandros 3
  • Linspire 5
  • RedHat
  • Sun Java Desktop R3
  • Ubuntu 5

Just noticed this posting.  What are the latest version of all non Suse Linux programs supported?  My real question is whether the support for non-Novell Linux is good enough.  I personally use Ubuntu and I will like to know what support I will receive if I deploy a Linux Multiplier system on Ubuntu.

If you purchase Desktop Multiplier from Omni you will receive fiest-level support from our technical support team.  Any problems that need a higher level resolution will be referred to the manufacturer by our support team.

The following Linux distributions are supported:

    • SuSE 9.1, 9.3, 10.1, 10.2
    • SLED 10 SP1
    • NLD (Novell Linux Desktop) 9
    • Mandriva (Mandrake) 10.0, 10.1, 2008
    • Red Hat Enterprise Linux WS 4 & 5
    • CentOS 4 & 5
  • Debian Based Distributions: [Be sure to download the Debian packages]
    • Ubuntu 5.04, 5.10, 6.06, 6.10, 7.04, 7.10
    • Kubuntu 6.10, 7.04
    • Edubuntu 6.10
    • Linspire 5.0
    • Freespire 1.0.4
    • Xandros 3.0, 4.0
    • Debian 3.1 (Sarge)
    • Dreamlinux 0.5-pre5
    • SimplyMepis 6.5
    • PioneerLinux

    *NOTE:* Desktop Multiplier may work with other Linux distributions that use the Linux 2.6 kernel however distributions other than those listed above, are not officially supported by Userful at this time.
