Question:  Is there a way to create posted appointments on my device with Omni Mobile?

Answer:  Composing posted appointments is not available in the current Omni Mobile client.  This will be included in a future release.

In the interim, you can use the following work-around to have appointments that you send to yourself be auto-accepted and therefore behave like posted appointments.

To have personal appointments be automatically accepted, have your users create an auto-accept rule in their GroupWise client.  Here are the steps:

  1. In the GroupWise client go to Tools -> Rules -> New Rule.
  2. Name the rule something like 'Auto Accept Personal Appointments'.
  3. Select Appointment check box under item types.
  4. Define Conditions to act on 'From' items.  Enter your name as the "from" condition.
  5. Appointment conflict exists can be set to yes, no or does not matter.  Setting this to "no" will cause personal appointments that conflict to be required to be accepted.  Setting to "yes"  or "Does not Matter" will cause all personal appointments to be automatically accepted, whether their is a conflict or not.
  6. Add Action 'Accept...',  leaving 'Busy' as the default.
  7. Add a 'Stop Rule Processing' action.
  8. Save the rule

Test your rule by sending yourself an appointment.  If your rule was successful, the appointment will have been automatically accepted.
