Problem - Release 2.2.6 includes support for USB audio headsets and USB memory keys. There is a problem involving event devices.
Event device is the character device created by "evdev" kernel driver. "evdev", the generic input event device driver, creates the event device for the device which provides input event, e.g. keyboard and mouse. Some USB audio devices and PC speaker also consume one event device.
One physical device can provide more than one event device. For example, most multimedia keyboards provide two event devices, one for the basic keys and another for the multimedia keys.
Once the number of event devices exceeds the maximum number provided by kerenl, any new device will not work. Most Linux distributions provide upto 32 event devices by default.
Resolution: If you want to increase the number of event devices, you will need to re-compile the kernel. Contact Omni Support at +1.780.423.4200 or email support@omni-ts.com to get instructions specific to your hardware.
