W A R N I N G

The omnimobile-server-installer.jar file must be run on the server that is hosting the GroupWise WebAccess application server. 

Running the omnimobile-server-installer.jar file from a Windows workstation using mapped drive letters or UNC paths will cause the installation to insert the incorrect paths into config and WebAccess files.  The result will be a corrupted installation of Omni Mobile that will have to be removed manually with assistance from Omni technical support staff.

P R O C E D U R E

The omnimobile-server-installer.jar file must be run on the server that is hosting the GroupWise WebAccess application server (the server hosting the WebAccess web site).  Please refer to the "Omni Mobile Admin Guide" for the correct installation steps for the server platform that is hosting GroupWise WebAccess.

R E C O M M E N D E D   B E S T   P R A C T I C E   S T E P S

The recommended best practice steps to install a working Omni Mobile solution are:

STEP 1 - Install the Omni Mobile Server Module
  • Confirm that the server meets the system requirements.

  • Create an Omni Mobile administrator account in GroupWise and confirm that the account can login into GroupWise WebAccess.

  • Install the Omni Mobile server module on the server hosting the GroupWise WebAccess application server (web site). Refer to the "Omni Mobile Admin Guide" for installation steps.
STEP 2 - Enable GroupWise Users for Omni Mobile
  • Login into GroupWise WebAccess as the Omni Mobile  administrator account and enable the GroupWise accounts that will be allowed to use Omni Mobile.  Refer to the "Omni Mobile Admin Guide" for the steps.
STEP 3 - User Configures Individual Omni Mobile User Policy
STEP 4 - Install and Provision the Omni Mobile Client
