WARNINGDo not upgrade the firmware for Motorola Q devices that have working Omni Mobile client software installed.  The upgrade that applies firmware version 06.0B.0BP will cause the Omni Mobile client to fail.  We highly recommend against trading in existing Motorola Q devices for the new black colour Motorola Q devices.

Problem:  Customer reported that the latest Omni Mobile client will not start on Verizon black MotorolaQ devices.  When the Omni Mobile client is started, the title bar changes to "We're Sorry...." .  the rest of the screen reads:

A problem has occurred with Omni Mobile.exe.
Please tell Microsoft about this problem, at no cost
to you.  The data is used exclusively to improve products.

Cause:  This problem relates to a problem that the Appforge Crossfire client has with a specific version of the firmware for the MotorolaQ devices.  Appforge has reported this as "INFO: Moto Q Firmware Version 06.0B.0BP Does Not Run Appforge Applications".  Appforge further advises that Motorola has admitted that this is their problem, but has not given any information on when an updated firmware will be available.  This problem will occur if using a new Motorola Q device with this version of firmware, or if an older Motorola Q device is upgraded to this version of firmware.

Resolution:  Unfortunately, there is no way to downgrade the device once it has been upgraded, apparently, so the only answer for right now is to avoid that firmware version. I know that doesn't help your customers much, and believe me, we're not happy about it either, but unfortunately there's nothing that we can do about it at the moment except wait for Motorola."
