Prefer to use Cingular as a carrier and so far the Palm 750 (windows mobile) seems the only dual-supported (Omni-mobile and Cingular) device.  The new HP ipaq hw6920 apparently is now supported by Cingular but I only see the hw6500 as a Omni supported device.

We're using both an HP ipaq 2415 and Cingular 8125 but the latter may be too small in terms of viewability and the former is not a phone.

Need something that our executives can actually "see".

Thanks for advice.

Hello, Henry.

(Author's note:  March 23, 2007.  Omni Mobile version 2.4 provides three new font size options.  Menu/Tools/Options/Font Size.  I recommend you download the latest version for improved font size control.)

I invite you to read the article "What is the Best PDA to Use with GroupWise".

Cingular is Omni's preferred US carrier because, as of version 2.5, Omni Mobile will have support for all of the Cingular PDA Smart Phones (including BlackBerry devices).

Although we support all of Cingular's PDA Smart Phones, my "Best PDA Article" recommends the Cingular 8125 as the best phone for Omni Mobile.  It has touchscreen support and the slide-out horizontal keyboard provides the best keyboard and full-screen view for GroupWise mobile messaging use.  It really is the perfect device.

I agree that the 3125 is a bit small from an interface perspective and is best suited for people who make limited use of the PDA functionality. As a result of the larger font size enhancement requests we have received from users of the smaller form factor Cingular 3125, Samsung BlackJack, Motorola Q and other Windows Mobile "flip phone" and non-touchscreen phones, Omni Mobile Version 2.4 introduces the option to choose Normal, Large and Larger fonts.  On these smaller phones, the increased "readability" factor of the Large and Larger fonts is much appreciated.

The Palm 750 (Windows Mobile 5) and the iPAQ 6920 (Omni Mobile supports the complete iPAQ 6xxx series) are also fully supported by Omni Mobile and Omni Messenger and will provide an excellent user experience.  The Palm 750 has the advantage that it is 3G network enabled.  The 6920 has Edge support and built-in Wi-Fi and GPS.  Definitely a hard choice!  Either way, Omni Mobile supports all Windows Mobile 5 and Pocket PC PDAs and Smart Phones.  Not all supported devices will be on our Pocket PC and Windows Mobile Supported Devices page because of the continuous arrival of new devices.

I look forward to hearing the results of the devices you choose.

Best regards,
