Riva is licensed by user count per module. There are three different
licence modes available with Riva (demo, trial, and full) which can be
intermixed (e.g. full for CCU, trial for CPU, demo for all other
modules). Licence modes are:
1. DEMO
- Riva is licensed to demonstration mode by default. This will allow
customers to download Riva and try each module. Refer to the "Latest Release" for specific "Demo" licence information.
2. TRIAL
- Customers can request an unlimited trial license of any module except IAC. Riva includes a built-in trial request wizard that will generate the necessary .licence file that needs to be emailed to Omni licence staff who will create a trial licence and email it back to the customer. Because the Internet Address Book Cleaner (IAC) is a one-time implementation, even in 30-day trial mode, it is restricted to run in demo mode.
3. FULL - Per-module, unlimited, unexpiring licence. The licence mechanism checks GroupWise accounts and back-links this account to the eDirectory account to ensure that a user is only counted once. Customers can upgrade to new versions of Riva modules until the expiry date of the software upgrades and maintenance contract. Software and maintenance contracts for modules purchased at different dates will be pro-rated to have the same expiry date.
To request a licence, run the Licensing Request Wizard by following the "How to Licence Riva" instructions detailed in the "Riva Setup and Licensing Guide".
Please refer to "When are license counts released" for additional information on the Riva licensing module and the licence pool.
