Issue:  Customer reported that when running Riva as a scheduled task, the task would run but calendar items would not update.

Cause:  Customer has eDirectory connection settings in Riva set to use SSL on port 636.

Problem:  Riva cannot successfully negotiate connection using SSL when run as a scheduled task.

Resolution:  This bug has been reported to the developer team and a fix should be made available in the near future.

Temporary Resolution:  We recommend that customers use non-SSL connection setting in Riva.  First confirm that the correct settings are made in ConsoleOne:
  1. In ConsoleOne, open the properties for the LDAP Group and confirm that Require TLS for simple binds with password is not checked.
  2. In ConsoleOne, open the properties for the LDAP Server and confirm that:
    • under the General Tab ensure that the Disable TCP Port beside TCP Port: is not checked
    • under the SSL/TLS Configuration tab ensure that Require TLS for All Operations is not checked
Next, the eDirectory connection settings in Riva Setup must be modified:
  1. Double-click the eDirectory tree connection object in Riva Setup
  2. Click on Connection Targets
  3. Select the ldap://<server>:636 (secure: True) in the connection list
  4. Change the Port to read 389 and uncheck "Use SSL"
  5. Click Update and Save >>
  6. Close and reopen Riva
  7. Test the desired policy to confirm that it works
Additional Information:

We recommend that you refer to "Riva Tips", "Best Practices for Installing Riva" and the "Riva Setup and Admin Guide" for additional assistance.
