This is the recommended procedure to configure nVidia card(s) properly on SLED 10.1 using Desktop Multiplier:

  1. Configure nVidia Drivers with the Multiplier.

  2. Install nVidia driver using "Yast" as described at:
    http://support.userful.com/wiki/index.php/Readme/Desktop_Mul tiplier#SuSE_LINUX_.28openSuSE.2C_SLED.29

    Be sure that there are two different drivers are exist based on your nVidia card.  http://www.suse.de/~sndirsch/nvidia-installer-HOWTO.html#5
    As shown in the link above, you need "x11-video-nvidiaG01" for the newer nvidia cards and "x11-video-nvidia" for some old cards.  We don't suggest to mix old and new nvidia cards for this reason.

  3. Install the latest DM.
  4. If possible, connect all the heads with monitors before you reboot. It will help card detecting procedure.
  5. Reboot system.
  6. If you get only one station from a dual-head card, run the following userful command in a terminal program to reconfigure graphic card manually. (Sorry, no GUI program is available for now.)

    Code:
    $ userful  xconfig -gen

    This command will prompt you to type the number of heads of each detected graphic card and reconfigure X config file.

  7. If you still don't get two stations from your dual-head card(s), then submit debug-info for further investigation:
