Do not to test the Enterprise Edition and the Desktop Edition or two instances of the same edition at the same time on the same account with the same synchronisation folder names. If you do, you will CREATE DUPLICATE ENTRIES in your systems.
Following is an example of address book synchronisation flow when two versions of Riva set to use the same default folder names for the CRM Calendar, CRM Address Book, CRM Content and Smart Convert To...
- A contact is added to the CRM.
- Riva Desktop Edition detects this new contact and it writes the info to its data hash.
- Riva Desktop Edition synchronises the entry to the GroupWise Address Book.
- During the next sync cycle, because it is monitoring the same GroupWise CRM Address Book, the Enterprise Edition detects the new entry in GroupWise.
- Enterprise Edition checks to see if that entry exists in its data hash. It does not.
- Because the entry does not exist in the Enterprise Edition data hash, the Enterprise Edition thinks the user has created a new address entry in GroupWise and syncs that information to the CRM.
- ...and so on and so on and ...
To sum things up, if you do not use different synchronisation folder names, DO NOT RUN THE DESKTOP EDITION AND THE ENTERPRISE EDITION against the same account.
