Question: Our organization has added two attributes to our user object.   We would like to add the values of these fields during the account creation process. Is this possible to add in the template?  I do not see these fields when I click on the NDS tab.

Answer:  You can add values to custom attributes using EMU.  You need to include a column for each attribute in a .CSV import data file and then use EMU to link the column to the eDirectory attribute before importing (creating) users.  Here are the additional steps to include in the import user process:

  1. Load the .CSV data file and use the drag 'n drop procedures to start the import porcess.
  2. For the custom eDirectory attributes, click "Advanced Values" button under the "NDS View" tab.
  3. Scroll down the "Advanced Values" list and find the desired attribute in the "Schema name" column.
  4. Check the desired attribute and then select the desired column from the .CSV file to link to the attribute from the "Linked Field:" drop-down list.
  5. Repeat steps 3. and 4. for each desired attribute.
  6. Complete the rest of the steps necessary to create the accounts.  Save the profile configuration to a .CP file and the "Advanced Values" settings will be preserved in the profile file.
