Issue:  Customer reported that the eDirectory connection wizard tried to log in as the admin user, and it returned an error that stated invalid version [2].  System was eDirectory and GroupWise System running on Windows Server 2003, with Riva running on same server.

Cause:  This error occurs when you have a GWIA running on the same machine as your eDirectory LDAP server.

By default the GWIA runs an LDAP server (which is not compatible with LDAPv3 and should be disabled with every GroupWise install). If the GWIA starts before eDirectory, then the LDAP port is not going to eDirectory, but to GWIA.

Resolution:  To resolve the issue, you want to disable the LDAP service provided by the GWIA. This can be done in the GWIA.cfg or/and in ConsoleOne.
