Issue:  Some customers who have recently upgraded to Riva released between 2.4.0.4822 and 2.4.0.5165 will notice that "Check for Updates" link has been inadvertently disabled and is not visible.  That issue has been corrected with the latest 2.4.1.5195 release.

Customers Affected:  This issue affects Riva Policies, Reports, managed Applications and Riva CRM Integration Server customers who upgraded to release 2.4.0 (Public or INTERIM).

Customers Not Affected:  For those customers who have not updated to a 2.4.0 release, your next update will be to 2.4.1 and you will not be affected by this issue.

Resolution: Follow these steps to re-enable "Check for Updates" and then upgrade Riva to fix this bug:

  1. Exit Riva.
  2. Find Riva in your file system. The recommended location is "c:\program files\omni\Riva".
  3. Browse to "...Riva\Application\".
  4. Open the subfolder with the most recent version (i.e. 2.4.0.4840).
  5. Find a file called "Omni.Connection.MA.dll" and rename it to "Omni.Connection.MA.dll.disable".
  6. Start Riva.
  7. The "Check for Updates" link should now be available. Click it to run the update wizard to download and install the latest version.  Once the update is complete, close and restart Riva.
  8. Click on the "Riva" logo (top right) and confirm that the Riva release number is 2.4.1.5195 or higher.
