How to Manually Update Riva CRM for GroupWise

Some customers have advised that their installation of Riva CRM is unable to perform a "Check for Updates" from the Riva application.

These are the steps to manually update Riva CRM:

  1. Run services.msc.  In the Services applet, locate and open the properties for the Omni Riva (CRM Agent for GroupWise) and verify the path to the Omni.Riva.CrmAgent.exe file.
  2. Stop the Omni Riva (CRM Agent) service.
  3. Make a backup copy of the \Riva\Application, \Riva\Configuration and \Riva\Licenses folders.
  4. Uninstall the service - Start > Run and type in the command that corresponds to the location for the installed service (step 1 above):

    "
    C:\Program Files\Omni\Riva\Application\<latest release number>\Omni.Riva.CrmAgent.exe" -uninstall

  5. Register and download the latest public release riva-latest.zip file.
  6. Extract the riva-latest.zip file and and save a copy of the "Riva" folder over the existing \Riva folder for your installed instance of Riva CRM Integration Server.  This will reset the \Riva\Application\Base as the location for the current Riva executable files and your desktop shortcuts will continue to run as before.
  7. Install the service - Start > Run and type in the command that corresponds to the \Base folder (step 5 above):

    "C:\Program Files\Omni\Riva\Application\Base\Omni.Riva.CrmAgent.exe" -install

  8. In the Services applet, refresh the view of installed services and then start the Omni Riva (CRM Agent) service.
