Just installed a 30 day trial version. (Netware 6sp2, GW6sp1, Symantec Anti-Virus Corp. Ed v8). Our Symantec server is set to delete, and failing that, to quarantine, infected files. When we start GEE, we get the following message (right after "verifying existance of virus scanner"): "Scanning disabled. Please ensure your virus scanner is loaded, and that it purges or quarantines infected files (Not fixes them). Also, you may have to extend the TTW For Scanner option." Symantec is running, and it is set to delete files.
I have no idea what TTW For Scanner option is, nor how to extend it. Hope someone can help.
Thanks

Problem resolved with Symantec Anti-virus Corporate Edition not being detected.
Hello, Harvey.
Thank you for identifying that problem. It has been resolved in version 1.2.2 that was uploaded January 14. Let me know if that solves the problem.
TTW is Time to Wait. It is the amount of time that GEE waits for the virus scanner to move the attachment if it is infected. This may need to be increased from the default of 20 seconds if your server is really busy.

Scanner not found - AV running on a different server
Hello, Peter.
This error is caused when GEE/GEE Whiz initialises and detects that the virus scanner is not active on the GEE_WORK directory. GEE/GEE Whiz are traditionally installed on the same server as the anti-virus software. This decreases the amount of LAN traffic that gets created. GEE/GEE Whiz can be installed on a different server from the server on which the AV is installed as long as the GEE_WORK directory is being scanned by the AV software. The AV software needs to be configured to scan the GEE_WORK directory and to quarantine or remove attachments with viruses.
The problem in the previous post was resolved when the client activated Semantec AV on the GEE_WORK directory.
Regards,
Aldo
