Hi,
I downloaded and installed the demo for GEE 1.3.0 and the message flow is fine, but when I try to log in I get this result in the browser:
HTTP 404 - File not found
I changed the default path during installation, do I need to modify any configuration files?
I can`t see what file it is trying to access.
This is running on Small Business Suite 6 SP3, GroupWise 6 SP2, and McAfee Netshield.

Hi, Tom.

Changing the default installation path should not make any difference to accessing the GEE Whiz Web Management Interface.

What is the TCP/IP address on your NetWare server? By default, you need to point to your server TCP/IP address, port 2000. For my server, I enter the following in the browser: http://10.10.2.6:2000. This brings me to a login prompt (the name of the user who installed GEE Whiz, case sensitive) and password. This allows me to configure GEE Whiz.

There are two problems that might interfere with not being able to open the GEE Whiz Web Management Interface.

1. Border Manager (and/or some of it features like Reverse Proxy) might be installed on your server and the port value needs to be allowed to be accessed.

2. The TCP/IP port 2000 may already be used by a different TCP/IP service. This can be confirmed with the following steps.
A. Unload GEE Whiz.
B. At your server, type TCPCON
C. Select Protocol Information
D. Select TCPIP
E. On TCP Connections, select "Select to View or Modify
F. Scroll down to see if port 2000 is being used.
If the port is being used, you will have to change the GEE Whiz port to a different value.

To change the port to a different value, go to the GEE Whiz screen on your Novell server, select F10 and change the port value.

Please contact me directly at aldo@omni-ts.com if this does not solve the problem.

Aldo:
I was using the IP address of the server and port 2000 to connect and I was getting the login prompt, it is after logging in that the error occurs. I checked TCPCON with GEE unloaded and it does not show the port in use, by TCP or UDP. I changed the port anyway to 20000 and tried again, same result. There is one more thing that may or may not be relevant. The console is displaying messages of uncertain origin. They occur at 30 sec. intervals and seem to start ten to twenty minutes after loading GEE, I am not sure of the correlation. The message is:

Hmmm.

Tom, please send me an email off-line (aldo@omni-ts.com) with your phone number or give me a call and we will see if we can get to the bottom of this.

Thanks,

Aldo

Hi Tom,

This is quite strange.

Can you zip up your entire GEE directory and email it to me? jsubmersioncom (hopefully that`ll keep the robots at bay).

The problem was resolved by replacing back slashes with forward slashes in the installDir section of the OPTIONS.DAT file.

1. Unload GEE
2. Go into your OPTIONS.DAT file
3. Find the installDir option
4. Change all backslashes (\) to forward slashes (/)
5. Save file.
6. Type GEE at your Novell prompt.
