Just installed GEE 1.3.0-r3 on Netware 5.0sp6a Groupwise 6.0sp3

GEE is detecting virus-scanner but when i sent a test eicar email thru GEE did not detect the virus. Netshield did detect the eicar virus in the GEE_WORK directory. GWIA still passed email on to the MTA

additional information. The original test email had the eicar.com virus included in a zip file. GEE did not detect this email. However I resent the email using just the eicar.com attachment and GEE did detect the virus. Does GEE not extract compressed file formats. Most On-Access virus scanners do not check compressed files.

Currently GEE Whiz doesn`t detect messages in compressed files.

This is a feature that we will be adding in a future release.

There are a few different AV product that will scan a compressed file. I can`t remember which they are, but perhaps Aldo knows.
