We were informed by a few users that they could not receive nor send to certain Internet E-Mail Addresses. I tried e-mailing these users from my personal account outside of our system. And as the user stated the e-mails were not delivered. After having some problems with the server running Gee we restarted the Server (NW 5.1 SP5). Instead of invoking Gee we restarted Gunivere as our E-mail Gateway AV. Just to see what would happen I tried e-mailing those users again from my personal account outside of our e-mail system. And the users did receive these pieces of e-mail. Again, we shutdown Gunivere and restarted Gee (in protected mode). The problem returned with e-mails not getting delivered to these certain users from outside the system. Since we have over 5,500 users I am sure that there are others, and we would probably hear from them if we ran Gee for an extended period of time.

Has anyone else seen this issue with Gee? Would very much like to use Gee but not if all the mail is not getting delivered to our customers. And no we are not running the Spam portion of Gee, only the AV portion.

Hmm, this is the first I`ve heard of this.

Are you running plain ol` GEE (ie: just antivirus) or the GEE Whiz package?

We are running the Gee Whiz package, version 1.3.1b. All functions are turned off except for AV.

Thanks

We had the same problem but it was tracked to a combination of factors related to versions of AV software, GEE, and GWIA. I finally dumped NetShied which was the biggest problem and when with Sophos. So far no problems.

Ah yes, Netshield.

Hopefully those problems will be resolved soon. The NAI guys have been in contact with us trying to resolve the problem.
