Came in this morning and saw "Message was unlicensed" in the log window. Although we have many more licenses than actual users I figured all the spam sent without real users may have caused the proble. Maybe a restart would fix the problem? F7 - ABEND. Reboot, 79 should have been blocked e-mails (some with infected attachments) in my inbox but all seems to work now. What may have happened? Cannot afford to let this happen again. How can we be proactive to prevent this.

Hello, Tom.

Please have a look at the geewhiz.lic, user.lic, and rechck.lic licences in the SYS:/GEE folder and ensure that the read-only bits have not been set. Also verify that none of the licences have a zero byte size. As a precautionary measure you may want to relocate your "Work" directory to the root of the volume and then "Exclude" the GEE directory from being scanned by your anti virus.

Regards,
