I am attempting to upgrade gee whiz 1.4.8 to 1.4.11 and have deleted the *.lic files, then from the novell console enter geeinst from the appropriate directory.

I am prompted to enter the port number, directory name and prompted for the login. After entering the login info, i.e. cn=admin.aa and the password, geeinst just exists and nothing happens. When I load gee from the console, I get the 1.4.8 version!

When I login using 192.168.1.99:3333 I can login, but unfortunately it's still 1.4.8 and not 1.4.11

any idea's?

Thanks

Try contacting Omni Support.

They should be able to walk through this with you if you're having problems.

Alternately, you might copy your existing GEE directory to another folder, delete it, and then reinstall GEEWhiz from scratch.  From there, you could copy pertinent files/configs, etc back over to the newly installed GEE folder...  I did this when I went from 1.4.4 to 1.4.10.  So far, so good... ;-)

Unfortunately I did that.

Renamed the gee directory, try to reinstall accepts my userid and password then drops back to the netware prompt.

I wonder if my license key is bad or something?

If you're having license issues, the logger screen should give some indication of that.

I am also having this problem. I don't believe it is a licensing issue because the install just exits upon succesful login as described.

Launch the install, type the correct username and password and the installer just exits.

I'm more than willing to provide any other information to help debug this.

Thanks,

Installed GeeWhiz 1.4.11 onto a freshly installed server and copied the pertinent upgraded files into my 1.4.10 install after backing up the directory. Everything seems to be running fine now except on the logger screen I am now seeing.

Get a connection messages, with logging set to NORMAL.

Did I miss a file or is this new normal operation.

Thanks.

Get a connection ?

Weird.

As for the installer issues, that binary hasn't changed in ... 1.5 years?

Strange to get issues like this now. I can definitely get Ken or Adam to start debugging with you guys if you are continueing to have problems.
