running Demo of GEE Whiz (1.3.0-r3).

can find Norton Anti-Virus Corp Edit 7.6 currently running on server. states that it cant find, make sure save files are off and extend TTW for Scanner. What is the TTW?

also, cant get port 2000 to be recognized by GEE. i have set up the port to for 2000 and 1000, to recognize ALL IP addresses or my Public IP or our internal IP.

we are running NW4.11 with SP9.

thx

disregard.

FYI-when logging in, not only must you use the same ID, but it must be the same case.

for the Norton, i had virus scanning turned off for the Domain folders.

matt,

TTW is Time To Wait and from what I understand, it defines the minimum time period between virus scans for files. If set too low, the files will be moved away before they are scanned, and if set too high, you will get files backing up in the folder before they "move on" to their destinations.

You also need to make sure that the virus checking software excludes all directories in the DOMAIN folder structure except for DOM/WPGATE/GWIA/GEE_WORK directory. That way the virus software does not waste time checking other GroupWise files, and concentrates on the one folder where the attachments are split out for checking. I can tell from personal experience that you can also get ABENDs if other work directories are scanned, apparently becasuse the scanner software starts working with a file, and suddenly finds that it is gone, probably because of some GroupWise process.

Hope this helps,

Shivaji
