GroupWise Emailer FAQ
Q: Why would I use GWemailer instead of my GroupWise client?
A: GWemailer allows you to use mail addresses directly from a text file. An example might be addresses collected at a Trade Show using third party software that produces a text file output. GWemailer would save you the effort of importing those addresses into GroupWise before being able to use them...although we a tool to help you with that task as well!
Q: Will GWemailer work with older versions of GroupWise that require Internet Gateway information to send outside the organization?
A: Yes. GWemailer is compatible with GroupWise 4.11 and higher.
Q: How do I use GWemailer?
A: 1. Open GroupWise
2. Launch GWemailer.
3. Select the ASCII text file which contains the e-mail addresses (single address per line).
4. Select to populate the BC:, CC:, or TO: fields.
5. Select the "Prepare Bulk E-mail" option. This step will open up a new e-mail window in GroupWise and populate the addresses into the selected BC:, CC:, or TO: line. You then compose your e-mail, and send it via GroupWise.
Q: Does GWemailer protect my email lists?
A: As long as you select to add you emails to the BC list (instead of the CC option), there should be no possibility for someone to see your email list. If you choose to add the email names to the CC: list, everyone will be able to see all of the names of the people who received the email.
