NetMail Notify Setup

Netail Notify is installed on a Windows workstation.  Configuring the application is similar to setting up a POP 3 or IMAP 4 account for email access.  The following information is required:

  • Company Name
  • Server Label (as it will appear if there are multiple profiles installed on the same workstation)
  • NMAP IP Address or DNS Name
  • NMAP Port Value (689 by default)
  • Web Client Interface Address
  • Web Port (80) by default
  • SSL Configuration (443 by default)
  • User Account Name
  • New Mail Check Interval

Setting up NetMail Notify for Multiple Accounts

NetMail Notify can bet set up for multiple profiles on the same workstation.  When you start NMN, you select the profile for the account to be used during that session and enter the user name and password.  NetMail Notify submits this information to NetMail and opens the account after confirming the account information.

Secure Account Information and Communication

NetMail Notify is secure because it uses SSL for all communication with the web client.  User name and password information is only stored in memory; it is never stored on the workstation.  NetMail notify connects to the configured NMAP service (NetMail server), confirms the login and password and checks for new mail every N minutes (based on the user settings).
