We came.

BrainShare 2005 offered a fantastic lineup of visionary industry leaders and keynote speakers for general sessions. What an impressive mix of CEOs, CIOs, a Governor and an Astronaut, tech savvy attendees and exhibitors. What a great week of keynotes, entertainment, delicious food and drink, breakout sessions and other conference delights. The Novell BrainShare team’s dedication to the conference and to its attendees made Brianshare 2005 arguably the best technical conference on the planet - and Omni is proud to have been a part of it all!

We conquered.

Thank you BrainShare attendees – our booth was busy the whole time. Over 1000 BrainShare attendees stopped by our booth and listened to our story of Linux Desktop, GroupWise Mobility, Management, Messaging and Email security solutions. We seemed to have “Just the Right Story” to tell about some cool technologies that our customers are really interested in. In fact, many of the other vendors told us they were orange with envy and simply couldn't believe how we managed to maintain and “wow the crowds” for four complete days! This is a strong testimonial and reflection that our “Just the Right Parts” brand includes some hot new product releases – including the Desktop Multiplier for Novell Linux Desktop. The Desktop Multiplier for Novell Linux Desktopis seen as a solution that will accelerate the future of affordable desktop computing.

We oranged!

We can’t believe that so many people could look so good in the color orange. A big hats off (or hats on) to all of you who donned our orange Desktop Multiplier baseballs caps, cozy orange vests or picked up our four-port USB hubs and PDA pens. And speaking of hubs, a big “hubba hubba” to Marilyn Monroe at Mardi Gras Night. In a packed crowd, Marilyn was showing off what she and Omni have in common…Just the Right Parts! Our "Happy BrainShare, Mr. President" limited edition t-shits and mouse-pads became a crowd favorite and our new 32-page OmniGuide was also a popular takeaway - packed with essential information about Omni solutions for GroupWise in a concentrated easy to access booklet format. Over 650 customers and triple-show attendees received orange fleece vests!

Orange - the color of cool, amazing and wow!

For Novell, this BrainShare focus was clearly on its Linux Strategy. But many would argue that there was even a bigger focus … on the color orange and some of the cool, amazing and wow technologies coming out of the Omni Booth. The response to our Desktop Multiplier for Novell Linux Desktop, Omni Mobile and eControl solutions has been outstanding!

Cool, it works!

At BrainShare 2005, we demonstrated Omni Mobile for GroupWise working on Pocket PC PDAs and Java phones (Syncaphone). And we were thrilled to demonstrate Omni Mobile for GroupWise Messenger for the first time! The universal response from the GroupWise Messenger team when they saw GroupWise Messenger on a PDA for the first time was, “WOW, when can we get this!”

Another COOL factor was the easy way in which help desk operators can manage multiple directory and email systems from a single browser. At BrainShare 2005 we unveiled eControl’s multi-network OS and multi-mail system support. eControl 2.0 is compatible with multi-tree and mixed eDirectory, Active Directory, GroupWise and Exchance systems – all from the same single browser. Amazing!

One of this year's hottest topics was Novell’s SUSE Linux. Based on the many amazing advantages of Omni’s Desktop Multiplier for Novell Linux Desktop – the uptake of Novell’s desktop Linux strategy will only be accelerated now. The Desktop Multiplier for Novell Linux Desktop was running FOUR independent user desktops from one computer during the whole tradeshow. The Desktop Multiplier can turn one Novell Linux Desktop computer into as many as TEN concurrent user desktops! The best way to describe the crowd reaction was “Amazing”! We must have heard the word "amazing" over 500 times at our booth. We heard from many different industry markets on how the Desktop Multiplier for Novell Linux Desktop was going to help them break the desktop barrier and speed their transition to Novell Linux Desktop.

Some examples include:

Healthcare Market - Nurses stations in healthcare environments were identified as immediate candidates for large hardware, software, configuration and maintenance savings that are delivered by the Desktop Multiplier for Novell Linux Desktop.
Education Market – A number of school district representatives saw the immediate advantage in infrastructure (electrical, HVAC, computer wiring) savings.
A large church organization that saw how their distributed learning could be a lot easier. These folks can now focus on the quality of their educational mandate by designing a desktop strategy that takes core information and makes it consistently available to their thousands of users – accelerating the good work they can do!
And many other manufacturing, banking, pharmaceutical and small business environments

WOW!

GroupWise in the palm of your hand – "WOW" is the best way to explain the reaction to GroupWise Mobile and GroupWise Mobile Syncaphone!

The many advantages of Omni Mobile for GroupWise kept people coming back for more. Omni Mobile’s “Zero to Mobile in 60 seconds” deployment strategy really got people excited. And the WOWs kept getting louder when we demonstrated how end users can manage their multiple folders and address books. And did we mention that Omni Mobile allows Novell Linux Desktop users to synchronise GroupWise to PDAs connected to their desktops? Yup, that’s one of the cool features that we hope to deploy very shortly in our public BETA for Omni Mobile.

Orange Meets Green

Omni and GWAVA partner to deliver value to customers – This BrainShare saw Omni and GWAVA create a new alliance to allows partners and resellers to help deliver “Just the Right Parts” solutions to their customers. GEE Whiz is now part of the GWAVA family of email security products.
