New Riva GroupWise Collaboration Integration Suite Now Available

Introducing Riva - a powerful set of GroupWise collaboration integration modules and reports. Sign up for an on-line seminar at www.omni-ts.com/omni-web-seminars.html

Current modules include Common Calendar Update, Common Proxy Update, Internet Address Clean-up, Dynamic Distribution Lists and more. We would love to hear about your needs to integrate your student and staff scheduling and timetabling applications such as PeopleSoft, Siebel, BlackBoard and Banner into GroupWise. Contact us for more information.

Riva leverages the GroupWise Trusted Application architecture and eDirectory connectors to allow administrators to push policy-based GroupWise and eDirectory information to their user accounts from a single workstation. Riva's report modules produce eDirectory and GroupWise administration reports that are not available using standard Novell administration tools. www.omni-ts.com/integration

City Government Simplifies Novell Identity and GroupWise User Account Management with Omni eControl

The City of Greater Sudbury deployed eControl to enable their front-line staff to manage 1,400 user accounts in 150 physical locations without any administrator or supervisor rights required in Novell GroupWise, eDirectory or the file system. All changes made in eControl are written to an audit log.

"We were looking for a way to delegate certain user account management functions to our help desk staff and HR department without having to give them all the keys to the kingdom," says Mr. Vic Liimatainen, Senior Support Technician for the City of Greater Sudbury. www.omni-ts.com/success/novell-audit.html

EMU Complements Novell Identity Management Deployment at Metropolitan Community College

Metropolitan Community College has used Novell Identity Manager since 2003 to provision and synchronize their 150,000 user accounts. But they still find that Omni's bulk user account management tool (EMU) comes in handy for doing mass updates and clean-up work on their systems. MCC reports that EMU was a life-saver for locating and bulk deleting orphan directories that File System Factory thought were gone, bulk renaming student accounts and home directories, re-linking home directory trustee assignments and other bulk user account management tasks.

Proof Points - Multiplied SUSE Linux Enterprise Desktop Strategy

Facing prohibitive costs to create new computer labs, the University of New Mexico adopted a Multiplied SUSE Linux Enterprise Desktop Strategy to increase its student computer access tenfold, while reducing the costs of setting up a classroom lab by more than 80 percent.

Controlled GroupWise Distribution List Module - Request for Feedback

Omni has received a number of requests from our Riva customers to develop a Controlled Distribution List module to complement the Riva Dynamic Distribution List module. We have started development based on the initial requests and would appreciate GroupWise administrators' feedback to make sure the proposed functionality will satisfy the needs of a wider audience. Primary functionality will be to allow a GroupWise administrator to configure GroupWise Distribution Lists so only "approved" senders can submit messages. Email from unapproved senders is bounced back to the sender and forwarded to the distribution list security manager for corporate policy follow-up. Please send your feedback on this proposed Riva module.
