Omni's latest GroupWise mobile messaging client to support mobile access to GroupWise Query Folders, documents in the GroupWise Document Management System and on-line full account GroupWise searches.
Omni Technology Solutions Inc., www.omni-ts.com, announced the March 19, 2007 release of Omni Mobile 2.4. GroupWise customers are invited to register for an on-line pre-release sneak peek web seminar of Omni Mobile's enhanced GroupWise mobile messaging features. Omni Mobile version 2.4 introduces support for mobile access to GroupWise Query Folders, documents in the GroupWise Document Management System (on-line and off-line) and on-line full account GroupWise searches (stored as Find Folders on the mobile device). The new GroupWise mobile messaging client will be available for all mobile platforms supported by Omni: Windows Mobile 5 and Pocket PC smart phones and PDAs; Nokia Series 60; Palm OS; and Sony Ericsson smart phones.
"By delivering these advanced GroupWise mobile messaging features, Omni is responding to GroupWise customer requests for more than basic PIM synchronization," said Trevor Poapst, Director of Global Marketing and Channel Strategy for Omni. Omni Mobile's enhanced GroupWise mobile messaging client continues to add native GroupWise features. Advanced GroupWise users will appreciate support for GroupWise Query Folders. GroupWise Document Management System users will be excited about being able to access their documents from their mobile device. With Omni Mobile 2.4, that master contract or other important file in your document store is just a click away."
Poapst continued, "Omni Mobile provides more than just PIM synchronization - it provides a complete on-line and off-line GroupWise caching client for mobile devices. Its native GroupWise look-and-feel leads to quick user adoption and higher user satisfaction. Omni Mobile's server module installs on customers' existing Novell NetWare, Linux or Windows servers."
"By adding GroupWise Query Folders, Document Management System support and full account on-line searches, Omni continues to deliver a richer GroupWise mobile messaging experience," said Aldo Zanoni, CEO and Managing Director for Omni. "GroupWise customers appreciate GroupWise for more than just email, calendaring and address books. Advanced GroupWise users appreciate the value of the complete GroupWise collaboration experience. And that is what Omni Mobile provides. And it will continue to get better. Future releases of Omni Mobile will include on-line Proxy Access and on-line Calendar Busy Searches - two of the most common feature requests."
"In addition to a richer GroupWise mobile messaging experience, Omni Mobile customers appreciate the simplicity of Omni Mobile and the fact that it installs directly on their existing GroupWise WebAccess server. Unlike other GroupWise wireless email solutions that provide PIM synchronization, Omni Mobile does not require a Windows server as the mobile gateway. Omni Mobile delivers a unique and substantial value proposition because it leverages customers' existing GroupWise investments in Novell NetWare, SUSE Linux or Microsoft Windows servers. There are no additional firewall configuration requirements, no additional protocols to configure, no external databases to manage and no additional backup, anti-virus or server patching requirements."
