Omni Announces Eight Integrations for
Novell GroupWise 8


Omni has introduced a new era of GroupWise integration and interoperability. Using Omni's Riva Integration Server, Novell customers can tightly integrate their existing GroupWise 8 or 7 system with Microsoft SharePoint, SugarCRM (all versions), Salesforce CRM, Microsoft Dynamics CRM, SageCRM (on-demand and on-premise), GoldMine, info@hand and SQL databases (Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL and Postgres).

Note:  Our GroupWise Web Parts Portal Integration for SharePoint requires GroupWise 8.

So, what do these integrations offer in practical terms:
  1. You can now access CRM account and contact information directly from within GroupWise. Any change made to your GroupWise CRM address book will be synchronized back to your corporate CRM and vice versa. If you are using BES or GroupWise Mobile Server, you can synchronize your GroupWise CRM address book to your BlackBerry or GMS-supported mobile device.


  2. All your CRM opportunities, quotes and support cases can be reviewed or deleted directly from within your GroupWise client. If you choose to edit these items, you can click the edit link and the CRM opportunity, quote or case will automatically open up. The synchronization is all server-side, so you don't have to worry about installing a client plug-in or manually synchronizing items.


  3. You can drag-and-drop a GroupWise email onto a "Create Opportunity" or "Create Case" folder in your GroupWise cabinet. Riva will then auto-magically create the CRM opportunity or case based on the GroupWise email information, including the associated account(s) and contact(s). Imagine how much time this will save you from manually cutting-and-pasting this information from GroupWise.


  4. Your CRM calendar items (i.e., calls, meetings, tasks) will appear in your GroupWise CRM calendar. If you update these items in GroupWise (or the CRM), the changes will be automatically synchronized based on time intervals that your network administrator sets. Items marked as private in GroupWise will block off time in the CRM, but not provide appointment details.


  5. You can quickly and easily assign GroupWise emails to recently updated CRM quotes, cases or opportunities. This is so much quicker than having to search for the account in your CRM, then drill down to the opportunity or contact, and manually cut and paste data from GroupWise over to the CRM. In many cases, salespeople don't bother and valuable information is lost for future client transactions. Riva helps close that gap by making it easy and seamless for the busy executive, salesperson or technical support person.


  6. Riva Integration Server allows you to continue benefiting from your GroupWise expertise and experience. Plus, it extends your GroupWise client to provide you a single point of access for email, calendaring, CRM and team collaboration data.


  7. Riva Integration Server eliminates the expensive costs associated with "rip-and-replace" migration strategies to Microsoft Exchange and Active Directory just to get the integration and interoperability a company needs for their CRM or enterprise information portal. Even if your organization decides to go with SharePoint instead of Novell Teaming, eDirectory can be used to provide transparent single sign-on between SharePoint and GroupWise -- no Active Directory is required.


  8. Imagine being able to access your GroupWise Mailbox, Address Book and Calendar (day, week, month views) directly from your SharePoint Portal. Riva allows GroupWise WebAccess Web Parts to be quickly and easily added to users' SharePoint Portal interface. Our objective was to provide the same functionality that exists for Outlook.
