Running eDirectory and Exchange? GroupWise on Windows?

Mergers, acquisitions, security and privacy requirements – and the potentially devastating lawsuits for non-compliance – have increased the need for systems and processes that simplify user account management in mixed networks. Many IT administrators are dealing with the chaos of managing thousands of users, distributed globally, across complex, mixed and multiple eDirectory, GroupWise, Active Directory and Exchange networks.

Complexity has a negative impact on help desk productivity for overtasked IT personnel and employees. The need to deliver "real-time" user changes often conflicts with security policies and regulatory compliance. Organisations need to respond quickly to user account change requests, and still protect sensitive corporate and customer data, track internal and external access and produce audit trails.

The solution – eControl 2.0!  eControl delivers a web-based, "ZERO Rights" User Account Management tool that empowers junior administrators, help desk operators, support staff and even end-users to perform common user account management tasks in Novell, Microsoft and mixed or multiple eDirectory, GroupWise, Active Directory AND Exchange networks. These everyday tasks include resetting passwords, creating new users, managing distribution and group lists and unlocking intruder lockout – all from a browser.

Mobile GroupWise access on the Palm Treo 700W, HP 6515 and QTEC 9100

Omni is pleased to announce the immediate availability of Omni Mobile 1.0.1.8 with support for the new Palm Treo 700w, HP 6515, QTEC 9100, and other new phones and PDA devices. In addition, several enhancements have been made in this release that improve the user experience and accommodate multiple screen resolutions.

What makes Omni Mobile unique?
Omni Mobile is a full, "native" GroupWise client that runs on your existing GroupWise 6.5 or 7 system – no additional hardware, Microsoft servers, databases or gateways required! Once you install Omni Mobile on your GroupWise WebAccess server, Omni Mobile uses GroupWise WebAccess as the conduit to your GroupWise system. Omni Mobile's familiar GroupWise user interface allows for minimal user training and quick adoption. Omni Mobile can be installed on Novell OES, NetWare, SUSE LINUX Enterprise Server and Microsoft Windows.

This announcement follows the exciting news released in Q4 2005:

  • Omni Messenger:  World's first GroupWise Messenger client for Pocket PCs and PDA Smartphones
  • Omni Mobile:  Launch of Omni Mobile 1.0 and "Get Mobile!" campaign
  • Omni Syncaphone:  Launch of GroupWise Client for Java mobile phones
