NOTE: GW-PCU has been discontinued and is no longer available for purchase. This section is here for archival purposes only.
User DetailsWhen a user runs PCU, it provides them with a drop down list to choose which combination of Novell, GroupWise or Microsoft passwords to change. PCU can be configured to enforce complex password requirements such as the minimum number of alpha characters, minimum number of numeric characters, minimum number of special characters, maximum number of concurrent identical characters. By default, PCU will modify the Windows password if the Novell eDirectory or NDS password is changed. For Windows NT4/2000/XP Pro, PCU automatically passes the password change to the workstation's SAM to modify the appropriate local user account. For Windows 9x, PCU will call the Windows password change applet window. Administrator DetailsThe PCU Admin utility allows the administrator to define password security profile and save them to different INI files. You can force PCU using a batch file called from a login script or use ZENworks NAL force run on application objects that call PCU using the INI file. These strategies allow administrators the ability to create different password security profiles for each group of users. |
