Omni Messenger for GroupWise
  • Provides "native“ client connectivity for Novell Messenger
    • Access to unlimited contacts
    • Unlimited folders
    • Unlimited conversations

  • No server-side configuration
    • Requires SSL-enabled GroupWise Messenger 2.0 and 1.1

  • Requires server to be “accessible” from the device
    • The GroupWise Messenger Agent IP address and port must be available to communicate with the Omni Messenger client for GroupWise
    • Either on the Internet for Smartphone support or by WiFi on
      supported devices

    • Besides Omni Mobile, there are no new support requirements for administrators. Omni Mobile leverages existing WebAccess expertise, installations and support systems
  • 192-bit AES encryption for secure data (Version 1.1)
    • Data stored on the handheld and transmitted over the wire/air is encrypted with 192-bit AES encryption
  • “Poison pill” removes GroupWise data from device
    • Includes messages, address books, calendar, etc.

  • Java installation wizard installs Omni Mobile on:

Omni Mobile: Account Configuration Process
  • Omni Mobile administrator logs into GroupWise WebAccess
  • and configures Omni Mobile user accounts
  • Omni Mobile user logs into GroupWise WebAccess, selects
  • the Omni Mobile icon (or tab in GroupWise 7) and configures
  • synchronisation options:
    • Mailbox or folders
    • Address books
    • Number of days of email to configure during initial account creation process
    • Number of days of email to retain on device

Omni Mobile: Account Configuration Process
  • User or administrator downloads the Omni Mobile client and Omni Mobile Setup Utility for Linux, Macintosh or Windows workstations
  • Run the Omni Mobile Setup Utility to gather the initial account information from the server. This creates the PDBs (database files) that need to be copied to the device
  • Use the native device software to copy and install the Omni Mobile client and PDBs to the device
  • User logs into Omni Mobile and configures device options
