CCUweb FAQ
Q: Is it possible to attach a document to a calendar entry?
A: Yes. You can use HTML within any calendar, note or task entry to include "clickable hyperlinks" to documents stored on your web server. When you build your project you can use the built-in "Upload" feature to place your documents into a directory in your CCUwebcalendar file set.
Q: How do I create a calendar in a different language?
A: By default, CCUweb ships with support for English and French calendar "skins". You can choose to create a new language file with the language content of your choice. This includes defining the names of months, days, abbreviations, year format and any other language-specific labels. See the user manual for additional details.
Q: I'm confused. What is the difference between Create Calendar Utility Web (CCUweb) and GroupWise Common Calendar Utility (CCU) ?
A: Create Calendar Utility Web extracts GroupWise or Outlook calendar information and automatically creates an HTML calendar that can be immediately available to your audience through your web site. CCUWeb extracts dates from calendars and publishes them to your web site.
GroupWise Common Calendar Utility allows you to distribute common calendar entries to all of your GroupWise accounts.
Q: What does the "Auto-update" feature do and why would I use it?
A: Auto-update allows you to use the Windows Scheduler to automatically update your calendar project and web calendar as often as you want. If your calendars change frequently, let the auto-update feature of CCUweb automatically refresh your web calendars with the updated information.
Q: I don't know anything about HTML. How hard wil it be for me to use CCUWeb?
A: You do not need to know or learn any HTML code to use the standard and advanced features of CCUweb. The only HTML code that would be required is if you want to create a link in a calendar entry. There are good examples in the documentation on how to do this.
Q: The ccuweb.zip file contains resource files for 2003 and 2004. Can I get resource files for 2007 and 2008?
A: Yes. Calendar resource files for 2006, 2007 and 2008 are available for download from the CCUweb download page.
Q: How is CCUweb licensed?
A: CCUweb is licensed to the number of GroupWise user or resource accounts that can be polled for calendar information when building calendar web pages in a single project. This does not limit the number of different calendars web pages that can be created, rather it limits the number of source accounts that can be used for a single 'web calendar project'.
